I was transported to 1920’s America; stunt flyers and daring, battlers and rural life with this story. Three people running away from their circumstances meet by chance in a field in the Midwest – a plucky, determined daredevil female, a damaged WWI pilot and a young man on the run. Together they become a family and barnstorm across America. Of course, running away means that you are always looking over your shoulder and the truth usually cannot stay hidden. I enjoyed the characters and how they dealt with their secrets and each other – not always smooth sailing, but always believable.
