The eye of the sheep

I was so involved in this story of Jimmy Flick, a six year old boy from a dysfunctional family who has Asperger’s or some kind of behavioural problem. This is so beautifully written it had me gulping back the tears and smiling with relief as I followed Jimmy, brother Rob, their asthmatic mother and sometimes violent father on their journey.

Sophie Laguna’s prose is amazing; Jimmy describing his Dad and Uncle Rod; “I could see they were both branches from the same tree, Uncle Rodney was taller but they both walked leaning back, legs happy to get there but the rest of them not so sure.”
