Poet’s cottage

Cynthia Poet's Cottage

I both loved and disliked this book. The murder had me hooked from the start and I needed to know who was responsible. The setting was great – an old house in rural Tasmania that seemed to breathe and have a life, like a human. The downfall of the book was some of the characters, most of whom were ‘damaged’ in some way. I really wanted to know why Thomasina was treated so badly and the motivation of the murder – both of which were not fully explained. All in all it was a good mystery story.
